On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, our class went to David Douglass High School to volunteer and help do different tasks to help the Oregon community. I had to engage with college students from other schools in while picking up trash. The experience of working with people I have never met before was different, but I took a lot from it.

Sustainablity Art Project
My art projects that I did throughout the year relate to this goal because I had to state my perspective of what sustainability is. Then from listening to my classmates' view of sustainability, I realized that sustainability can be seen in different ways.
No two human beings are alike. Everybody has their own way of thinking and acting. This is made even more so by the ethnic and cultural differences amongst us. Living in the dorms and having people from all over the world was a way to learn about the diverse culture that the world has. I have made friends with people from all over and ask questions about their culture. Being from Hawaii I get asked similar questions like Hawaii isn’t even a state. The projects that we have done help us get out in the world and experience friendships that help with diversity.
